Dear disciples in Christ,
So the call goes forth from our Lord, but not just to follow Him, as though all we do is kneel at His feet and receive His gifts.  We know this to be a constant and regular need and He feeds us powerfully with His Word and Sacraments.  We know that.  But His call also goes out to us, “Who will go and work today?”  In other words, He serves us with His means of grace in Divine Service, so to empower us and move us to go and serve our neighbor in love.  That service of love is in every single vocation He places us.
The need now sounds forth from me (Pastor) to you that you consider two special areas of service for our Lord in His church:
Working with our new Orphan Grain Train branch here in Terryville (33 S. Main St.).  The dedication/grand opening is Sunday, June 1st at 4:00PM.  (If you plan to attend, please RSVP the church office (860)582-0723.  Yes, there is still much work to be done to gather items and build up funds to process our first shipment, so we are a ways away from that, but we have work to be done. So as the cry goes forth for volunteers to help, will you answer that cry?
If you can come to our Board of Outreach meeting this Thursday, May 8th at 9:00AM, please do so.
What a blessing it is to serve Christ!
