Beloved in the Lord,
Did you get up this morning and consider your sins–confess them to God and ask for His forgiveness for Jesus’ sake?  Did you begin your day as God intended you to begin it as His dear baptized child of grace–begging for mercy because of your sins?  Did you begin your day as a GRACE DAY?  In Word and Prayer?
Oh, the Lord is so good!  Jeremiah writes in Lamentations 3:  “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (vv. 22-23).  What a way to begin each new day!  Looking for the Lord’s mercy and remembering His steadfast love (and mercy) shown to us–given to us–in Jesus Christ, our suffering, our crucified, and our risen Savior.
So it is good for us to sing:
Sin, disturb my soul no longer: I am baptized into Christ!
I have comfort even stronger:  Jesus’ cleansing sacrifice.
Should a guilty conscience seize me  Since my Baptism did release me
In a dear forgiving flood,  Sprinkling me with Jesus’ blood?
There is nothing worth comparing  To this life-long comfort sure!
Open-eyed my grave is staring:  Even there I’ll sleep secure.
Though my flesh awaits its raising,  Still my soul continues praising:
I am baptized into Christ;  I’m a child of paradise!
